Any person who is a victim of, or suspects abuse by Church personnel is strongly encouraged to come forward and report the abuse to the Arhdiocese of Baltimore.
The report should be made to the Director of the Office of Child and Youth Protection (1-866-417-7469; 410-547-5348).
The Church is committed to listening, healing, and reconciliation. Church personnel who receive a report, suspect, or allege child abuse on the part of Church personnel are required to contact the Office of Child and Youth Protection immediately, in addition to reporting to civil authorities under state law (Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services: 410-421-8400).
The person making the report will be advised that the Archdiocese takes such allegations seriously and will respond promptly.
If the Director of the Office of Child and Youth Protection cannot be reached immediately, the person reporting the alleged abuse should contact the Chancellor, the Director of Clergy Personnel, the Director of Human Resource Services, the Executive Director of the Department of Management Services, an Auxiliary Bishop, or the Archbishop.
To respect the privacy of those involved, confidentiality is maintained, to the extent possible, consistent with civil reporting requirements and the Archdiocese's policies and procedures.
