BIOGRAPHIES
Mr. Tim Janiszewski
Tim Janiszewski was born in Baltimore,
Maryland and raised in Pasadena, where he attended St. Jane Frances School
and then Chesapeake High School, graduating in 1987. He began attending
Our Lady of the Chesapeake with his parents when it was still a mission
back in the late 1970's.
After graduating high school, Tim attended
Penn State, graduating in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil
Engineering. He worked as a consulting engineer for 6 years in Pittsburgh,
PA and Gaithersburg, MD. In 1993, Tim began volunteering with the
High School Youth Ministry. Father Rafferty offered Tim a position
as Pastoral Associate in Youth Ministry in 1997. After much prayer,
reflection, and consultation with his wife, Tim accepted the position and
left engineering to come work at the church.
Tim was married here at OLC in 1995 and
has two sons that keep him busy and smiling. He and his family live
in Ellicott City. He enjoys exercising, racquetball, golf, and water
skiing; but since he is married with children, he never gets to do any of
that "stuff". So he enjoys working on his house, trying to
complete his lovely wife's never ending "honey-do" list, and
spending time with his sons (soon they'll be old enough to do that
"stuff" with their dad).
Tim has three goals for the religious
development of our youth: to
foster their relationship with Christ, to encourage their participation in
the Parish community and the general community, and to help them to enjoy
themselves as they search for peace, happiness, and the truth. He
takes his commitment to these goals and our youth seriously, and enjoys
what he does thoroughly.
Mr. Rodney Armero
Rodney grew up in the Pasadena area where
he graduated from Chesapeake High School. He attended Loyola College
where he received his undergraduate degree. He then earned his Master's
Degree in Health Policy Management from the Johns Hopkins University.
Rodney's musical career began as a young
child, studying classical piano and the violin. Throughout the years,
Rodney has been involved in various bands and jazz ensembles.
Currently, Rodney is engaged in clinical
research for a local pharmaceutical company. He has been a member
of Our Lady of the Chesapeake since 1999. In January 2001, Rodney accepted
the position of Director of Music with responsibility for planning and
orchestrating all vocal and musical support for our weekly liturgies,
funerals, weddings, and special events.
Rodney is happily married, and he and his
wife both enjoy raising their three children.
Ms. Carole Dowell
Carole Dowell was born in Baltimore,
Maryland where she graduated high school from the Institute of Notre Dame.
Afterward, she worked at several insurance companies as a secretary and
clerical assistant. She then moved to the Pasadena area and began a long,
outstanding career with the Anne Arundel Board of Education where she was
employed as a cafeteria manager for area schools, with the most notable
being Bodkin Elementary.
Carole has been a member of Our Lady of
the Chesapeake Parish since its inception and has been a member of the
Pastoral Staff on a part-time basis since 1989 and on a full-time basis
since 1998. She has a long, distinguished history in the field of
religious education. Carole has been a volunteer catechist since 1973 and
also holds an Advanced Catechist Certificate which she renews every five
years after completing rigorous continuing education requirements by
attending various courses and workshops.
Carole has two children and is totally
involved in the lives of her grandkids. She loves to crochet and is an
avid traveler and sightseer having visited the Panama Canal, the Eastern
Caribbean, Austria, Germany, Alaska, Russia, and the Baltics.
Mrs. Donna White
Donna was born in Baltimore,
Maryland.
Ms. Patricia Hild
Patricia was born, raised, and married in
Baltimore, and has lived in Pasadena now for over 27 years.
Before her marriage, Patricia worked for
the H.J. Heinz Company. There she served as receptionist,
switchboard operator, route-tracker for the salesmen, and manager of their
"mini-post office." After taking time off to raise her family,
Patricia returned to work as the receptionist and general patient care
contact point for a local dentist. Both positions have prepared her
well for her role as Office Assistant at OLC. She
has been a part of the Pastoral Staff since 1995 and absolutely loves it,
feeling that the staff is her second family.
For the past 13 years, Patricia also has
played a vital role in our parish's RCIA program as co-coordinator and
catechist. She says that she awaits the beginning of each year's
program as eagerly as she did the one before, for she can't imagine a
greater thrill than seeing the Holy Spirit work in the catechumens' lives.
Patricia's children all live close by and
stay in frequent touch. When not visiting with family, she stays
very busy going out with friends, gardening, cross-stitching, and creating
memory books for her grandchildren.
Ms. Judy Glinka
Judy was born in Brainard, Minnesota where
she attended elementary school through the second grade at which time her
family moved to West Virginia for one year, and then proceeded to Glen
Burnie, Maryland where she graduated from Glen Burnie High School. She
then attended the ITT Business Institute and graduated as an Executive
Secretary.
Judy then worked in a variety of
secretarial and accounting positions before finding her niche at
Westinghouse where she was employed as a Senior Accountant in the payroll
department.
In April 1996, Judy completed the RCIA
Program at Our Lady of the Chesapeake and taught as a volunteer catechist
for three years in the religious education program. She is also the
volunteer co-chair of the Altar Society, the group responsible for setting
up the altar and church interior for masses, funerals, weddings, and
special events.
Judy joined the Pastoral Staff in July
1999 as the Business Manager, overseeing the paying of all our bills,
reconciling our debits and credits, and ensuring that no one ever runs
over budget.
Judy is married with two children and
enjoys sewing and woodworking. Her handiwork and her husband's fine
craftsmanship can be seen everyday in the church--they made the beautiful
glass-and-wood cabinet or "ambry" that displays and stores those
oils that have been blessed for use in sacramental anointings.
