OUTREACH
"For I was
hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave
me something to drink; I was a stranger and you invited me in; I
needed clothes and you clothed me; I was sick and you looked after
me; I was in prison and you came to visit me...I tell you the truth,
whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you
did for me." MT 25:35-36; 40. |

Guided by the values of the
Gospel and the social teachings of the Church, Our Lady of the Chesapeake
actively seeks to provide service to those in need with special concern
for the poor, the sick, the elderly, the disadvantaged, and those with any
special needs.
We strongly support and place
great emphasis on our outreach ministry to the poor and the vulnerable
through direct service, allocation of resources, education, liturgy, and
public advocacy.
In addition to providing
services that are staffed by parishioners and use parish resources, we
also assist by referring people-in-need to those community-based resources
whenever appropriate.
