SEASONAL PROGRAMS
Occasionally throughout the year, usually
during Advent and Lent, short-duration scripture study programs or mini-missions
are offered to help us re-vitalize our spiritual lives in
keeping with the "reason for the season" and what it
means to us living here in the Lake Shore area of Pasadena, Maryland
today.
FIRST FRIDAY BOOK
CLUB/BIBLE STUDY GROUP
The
OLC First Friday Book Club/Bible
Study Group meets on every first Friday of the month (except
for July and August) at 7:30pm in The Gathering Place. The
purpose of the Book Club/Bible is to read books dealing with
spiritual formation and any Church-related issues of current
interest to the participants. In addition, we bring in Bible study
of scripture when related to our reading or as a matter unto itself.
Everyone is invited to participate in the OLC First
Friday Book Club/Bible Study Group. If you are interested in

RCIA
The
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a program for
non-Catholics who are interested in (or even just thinking about) joining
the Catholic Church. Each year, our
parish begins this program to welcome any and all who are curious about,
interested in, or just want to know more about the Christian Faith as it
is lived and celebrated in the Roman Catholic Tradition.
The
process is less of a classroom experience than it is an amicable
faith-sharing among friends. Meetings are relaxed, informal, and offer an
opportunity to share thoughts, questions, and aspirations with others
interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith.
Our 2007-2008 Program
begins in September 2007 and culminates with the Saturday-night Easter-Vigil
Liturgy on March 22, 2008. Meetings are held weekly on Tuesday evenings, from
7:30-9:00pm.
We also offer
a daytime RCIA program
specifically designed for those individuals who are unable to attend the
Tuesday evening RCIA program. We meet weekly during the daytime, and
follow the same schedule and format as the Tuesday-night RCIA Program. If

and meet with others like yourself--to talk, to listen, to discern

LEAP IN FAITH EXPERIENCE
An Adult Faith Formation
program, "L.I.F.E."
(Leap In Faith Experience), is being offered whereby small groups come together
to share individual experiences of God in their lives. This is a
program that calls for little commitment and no pressure, and is
intended to deepen your relationship with God and Church. For the year
beginning in October 2007 and ending in May 2008, different L.I.F.E.
Groups are formed with some meeting at the Pastoral
Center, while others
meet at the L.I.F.E. Group Leaders' homes.
